Rocky Mountain Hi Board and General Meeting

The Rocky Mountain Hi chapter meeting was called to order by President Char Bucher at 7:00pm, at the Garden Terrace Center in Aurora.

Due to extenuating circumstances there were no minutes to be read.

Treasurer Pat Greene was out of town.

Seminars: Marlene Haviland reports she has openings in the Janet Nunn class on April 3. This a liquid watercolor class. Call Marlene if you are interested in signing up or have seminar questions. Marlene will try to get Judi Patti to teach a one day class, possibly in July.

Seminars: Melinda Barnes has space left in all three days of the Brenda Harris seminar, but has had inquiries from all over the world, so if you are interested in taking this seminar, call her soon. She said we may need the room at Garden Terrace on Thurs. night for preping pieces for the classes. Della Wetterman is teaching a seminar in Colo. Spgs. and is bringing tin and lots of other goodies to buy. Call Melinda if you are interested in signing up or you can come shop without taking the classes.

Membership: Elissa McAlear said we have 31 paid members.
Jeannie Conrad is having hip replacement surgery.
Nancy Caldwell is starting therapy tomorrow.
Kathy Kula has surgery Mar. 17.

Congratulations to Char Bucher on her published childrens book, "Cecil Learns to Smile", available at Amazon.com, and Barnes and Noble on line, or you can access her website at OutskirtsPress.com/cecillearnstosmile. Char both wrote and illustrated her book.

Newsletter: Annie Dennise needs articles and recipes by the last week of March for the newsletter. Annie also reported a sale at the former Iliff Public Library Site at Iliff and Peoria behind the Wallgreens store, Sunday March 21, 2010, from 10:00 to 4:00. Books really cheap due to library closings. Bring your own bags or boxes. Children/YA books- ten cents, Audio books- thirty cents, all other books- fifty cents.

Vice president: Sue Lewis reported the April program was canceled. The program in May will be Donna Marris who teaches at Guirys, demoing animal fur, eyes etc. The June museum trip to Fiddlers Green will be early in the day of our regular meeting and Sue is planning to set up a carpool.

Our program tonight involves making your own greeting cards. Four members each have a table set up to teach us to decorate cards. Each is in a different medium. Thank you to Annie Dennis, Char Bucher, Marlene Haviland and Sue Lewis for a fun evening.

There being no further business, it was moved by Annie Dennis to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Melinda Barnes. Meeting adjourned 8:00pm.

Respectfully submitted, Ginny Sparlin, sec.
